Book a Place

Create a scheme of your theater, cinema, restaurant. Use our event manager. Online booking!

Booking places, seats, tickets… In theaters, cinemas, restaurants etc. It’s really convenient, when people are able to book a place online. With our plugin it’s possible.

Book a Place plugin is very easy to use by both parties: users, who want to book a place, and administrators, who create a scheme, add places, set prices etc. Moreover, there you will find powerful event manager. We created our plugin as simple as possible. And we are ready to continue working on it to make it better.

So what you get with Book a Place plugin:

  • Event manager.
  • Easy tool to create a scheme of your placement.
  • You will get emails about new bookings (email addresses and templates can be managed).
  • Orders section with a lot of important and useful data.

We are happy to propose you our Book a Place Pro plugin:

  • Paypal payments.
  • Plugin permissions.
  • Coupon/discount system.
  • Custom scheme numbering.
  • Photo gallery for each place.
  • Bulk actions in scheme editor.

You can find the Pro version here.

  • Setting a place
  • This is the scheme in wp-admin
  • Event manager
  • Editing an event
  • The scheme with cart in front-end
  • Settings page

  1. Go to Plugins section.
  2. Click to Add New.
  3. Search for “Book a Place”.
  4. Find our plugin and click Install Now.
  5. Activate it.

  1. Upload Book a Place plugin to your blog (/wp-content/plugins/).
  2. Activate it through the administration panel.

There are two possible variants of using our plugin:

If you just want to show the booking scheme
  1. You should go to Schemes section and create a new scheme there. Scheme is just a scheme of your theater, cinema or restaurant. There you should input name, description, width and height.

Name is just a name.
In description you should describe the event, mention the date and time and other important info.
Width – number of cells horizontally. In each cell you will be able to set a place. Each cell is like a 1 square meter.
Height – number of cells vertically.

Are you confused now? Don’t worry, we are almost there 😉

  1. Now you should find your scheme in listing and click on View.
  2. Here you can set places, prices etc. Use colors to group similar things. Create different places using several cells.
  3. You can find a shortcode for each scheme in Schemes section. This shortcode can be embedded to any post or page.
If you want to use the event manager
  1. You should create a scheme as we described above.
  2. Then go to Events section and create an event there. There are three possible types of great calendars: month, week, day. You can choose one or several cells to create an event for. We created three color options for each event: background, border and text. Enjoy!
  3. When you added, just click on event to find a shortcode.

As you understand, if you use event manager, then your booking will be closed automatically.

That’s it! Now everybody can book a place. You will get an email about this as administrator and user will get an email too. Email templates can be edited in Settings section (‘E-mail templates’ tab). In section Orders administrator will find information about all orders.

It is easy to use, with clear functionalities. Create your own seating charts based on a free definable matrix based on x rows and y cols. Then add seats or tables (with seats displayed) matching your venue. Then deploy the seating chart on a page with the short-code matching your seating-chart. As a user anybody with a browser can now see the venue and reserve seats or tables by simply clicking on it, and the seat or table gets added to the cart below the chart. As a user you see in realtime when someone else puts a seat in their cart, or even when seats or tables are added in the plan!!! By pressing the ordering button, the user gets send a freely configurable e-mail with database-tags as well as you as the event host (administrator) a different but also freely configurable. Impressed with its simplicity and robustness! Thank you!

The cart timeout feature is unusable in its current state, see my support ticket here: I was hoping to use this plugin to go live with a client but am unable to because I require this feature. Support team responded after 2+ weeks saying they’ll fix it in the «next version» with no indication of when that will be… Once fixed, I’d be more than glad to update my review, but until then, this plugin has bugs that make it unfit for my client’s needs.

I’ve been using this plugin for a year now for a local non-profit. It reduced their workload tremendously and didn’t cost them anything! Thank you!

We’re a small non-profit, and we needed a clickable seat map with assigned seating for two children’s holiday concerts (only 60 seats per concert). All of the other ticket sales plugins cost $100 or more, and didn’t even have a seat map. THIS IS THE PERFECT PLUGIN!! And yes, you have to assign each seat individually, so it’s definitely not for larger venues, but for our purposes, it was spot on. Thank you so much, ArtkanMedia!!
